Once you are a certified Open Water Diver the next step is a PADI Advanced Open Water Course, which consists of 5 dives chosen from the PADI Specialties. Both the Deep and Navigation adventure dives are required for the Advanced Open Water certification. Alternatively, you can choose to complete each as a separate Adventure dive which can be credited towards an Advanced certification or Speciality course to be completed at a later date.

This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and your choice of three of the following:

• Aware Fish ID

• Digital Underwater Photographer *

• Drift Diver

• Enriched Air Diver

• Multilevel and Computer Diver

• Night Diver

• Peak Performance Buoyancy

• Search and Recovery Diver

• Underwater Naturalist

• Wreck Diver

There is a corresponding Chapter out of the Adventures in Diving manual to read and Knowledge Review for each Adventure dive which you will finish and then review with your instructor.

The full PADI Advanced Open Water course can typically be completed in two days and this certification is accepted worldwide to enable you to explore more dive sites and more places then ever before.

PADI Advanced Open Water Divers can further their training here in Roatan by enrolling in the PADI Rescue Diver and continue on to Master Diver level or begin the professional route with our Divemaster program and internship. Jr Advanced Open Water Divers can participate in some of the Specialty courses, and PADI Jr Rescue Diver is also an option for children from age 12. Any of the PADI Adventure Dives included on your course can also credit towards the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
